I left my ex and my friend stranded in greece after he cheated.

I found out my ex was cheating, and not just with anyone with a girl who used to sit in my house and call herself my friend. The breakup was immediate and nasty. He didn’t even pretend to be sorry. He packed his things and chose her. I was so emotionally wrecked afterward that changing passwords wasn’t my first thought. That part is on me. About a week later, I get a notification from an airline: international itinerary confirmed. I open it and almost drop my phone.

This man had booked a trip to Greece for himself and the woman he cheated with using my frequent-flyer miles that were still saved on his device. To make it worse, I later found out she’s pregnant, and the trip was his idea of a “fresh start.” A romantic getaway. On my rewards. I didn’t rush to fix it. I waited. I watched the flight tracker until it showed arrived in Athens. Then I called the airline, explained that my account had been used without permission, and since the tickets weren’t under my name, they immediately canceled the return flights and refunded every mile back to me.

They’ve now been stuck overseas for over a week. It’s peak travel season. One-way tickets back to the U.S. are running well over a thousand dollars each, and neither of them has that kind of money. Since then, my phone has been nonstop missed calls, texts, voicemails. Apologies. Panic. Requests for help. “Can you just send us something so we can get home?” No.

They made their choices. They used my account. They assumed I’d clean it up.

Instead, they’re sitting in Greece with no return flight, no money, and plenty of time to think about it. Am I wrong or did they play themselves?
