I (F) have a close friend (M) and recently he’s been acting weird(canceling plans with me even though he suggested it, leaving me on read for hours,..) just to clarify I am not into men and am taken. One of his friends (F) accidentally told me something about him having a boyfriend (he’s bi but never dated a woman so people around him often tease him that he’s gay).
When I asked him and told him the fact that his friend said that he has a boyfriend he replied that he doesn’t and that she made it up because she assumes that he’s dating his very good friend (M). I was teasing him about the fact that he might be dating someone and he just hit me out of nowhere (quite hard,it left a bruise) which I firstly annoyed but the day after that we got into an argument and he accused me of never believing him and always being an asshole to him.
He started yelling at me that I am just beying a bitch and that I always tell everyone everything and that it’s none of my business- which it’s not but I thought we were at least at the level of beying good enough friends that he would tell me and I never told anyone anything that he told me.
It hurt me that he told that friend who told multiple people and me even though we are not close(with his other friend). Today he texted me that he’s sorry for what happened between us but it doesn’t seem genuine at all. I’m really scared of losing him as a friend because he’s been with me through a lot and I don’t know what to do. Am I the asshole?
