AITAH (26M) My GF (33F) came back from a trip with condoms and gave me the most BS excuse I’ve ever heard. Am I crazy for wanting to kick her out?
Hey everyone, I need a reality check here. My GF (33F) and I (26M) are both currently unemployed.
She went back to her hometown on January 24th and just got back a week ago. Since she’s been back, she’s been acting all “melancholic,” like she’s homesick for whatever she left behind, and she’s already pushing to go back there again to “save money on groceries.”
But here’s the kicker: I found two commercial brand condoms in her stuff. We don’t use that brand. When I confronted her, she gave me two different stories:
Version A: She said she got them for free at a public hospital. I actually called the hospital to check, and they confirmed they DO NOT have that brand. They only distribute generic, unbranded government ones.
Version B: When she realized I caught her in the hospital lie, she pivoted to the most ridiculous excuse ever. She claims her 15-year-old brother just handed them to her and said, “Here, use these.” She tried to play it off like, “I was so shocked, I don’t know why he’d do that.” Like, come on. What 15-year-old kid—especially as shy as boys are at that age—is going to give condoms to his 33-year-old sister while she’s visiting the family? It’s complete and utter BS. I feel like she’s totally gaslighting me to cover up an affair she had while she was away.
My plan right now is to play it cool for about 10 days until her period is supposed to start. I want to make sure there’s no “pregnancy surprise” waiting for me before I pull the plug. Once I’m in the clear, I’m telling her it’s over and she needs to pack her bags. What do you guys think? Has anyone ever heard an excuse this bad? Is it even worth trying to get a confession at this point, or should I just wait for Day 11 and show her the door?
TL;DR: GF came back from a month-long trip with condoms we don’t use. I called the hospital and proved her first lie was fake, so then she claimed her 15yo brother gave them to her. Waiting 10 days to rule out pregnancy before I dump her.
