Hi, I’m 15 and I’m still really sad.I bought my family Christmas presents with my paycheck.

I only make so much because I’m still a kid. My check was $600, and I spent almost all of it on my family because I wanted to do something nice. I bought my brother some shoes from Walmart. I got my baby sister some baby outfits from Walmart. I bought my mom a necklace it wasn’t real, but I thought it was pretty. I got my dad a jacket. I also baked a cake for my family and made a few other things.

After everything, I only had about $100 left.

On Christmas Eve, my family flew in and we all spent time together. Christmas morning came, and everyone started opening gifts. I was excited because I wanted to see their reactions to what I got them. My brother liked his shoes. My baby sister is still a baby, so she didn’t really react. But when my parents opened their gifts, they laughed. My mom said, “Wtf is this cheap a** ?” and everyone started laughing. My dad halfway opened his gift and threw it on the couch. Then they opened gifts from my cousins and aunts, and those were expensive things like real jewelry and name-brand items.

They hugged my cousin who is 17 and my older male cousin, saying how thoughtful everything was. Later that night, I talked to my parents about how it made me feel. They told me I had months to save and should’ve gotten something nicer instead of “half a** doing it.” But I help pay for rent and lights. I also give gas money so they can take me to and from work. I don’t understand how I was supposed to save more money. I feel really bad and like I’m not appreciated. My brother told me he appreciated his gift, but I still feel hurt and unloved.
