AITA for saying this…
So there was a post on my timeline and it said that pride stuff should not be in children’s cartoons… which I agree.
The original poster commented she think straight stuff should not be in it either but I don’t really get what that means because I don’t think any sexuality should be in children’s shows at all regardless if it’s straight or gay.
Anyway, to get to the point… i eventually told them I do not believe someone can be gay. (It was more to the convo I just am getting to the point) I did not name call or say anything hate related. That’s all I said and they started calling me homophobic… I’m not homophobic I even looked up the definition and it said to have fear, discrimination, negative feelings, etc towards gays and I don’t have any of that. They kept trying to prove how I’m homophobic so I told them if someone says they don’t believe in God, you don’t ask them if they hate Christian’s?? So why are they acting like I hate gay people just because I do not believe you can be gay? That’s my personal view.
They blocked me after and all I could think was “this is why people are homophobic because why do gay people make being gay their entire personality and why do they get upset just because you don’t share their same views?” People don’t share my views all the time and I don’t get mad and block them. What’s funny is that me and this person got along well bc we were both down south trying to capture a dog we saw off of a fb group so we had the same heart and intentions but she blocked me and ended a good fb friendship just bc of my personal views not matching hers. AITA??? If so, how? Thank you.
